Spock in retirement, aka Bruno Mars - The Lazy Song (SLYT)
The mood of the video seemed very different than the tone of the song. The song is peppy and lighthearted. The video was kind of depressing; maybe I would have felt differently with a younger actor, but it just made me think "poor lonely old man," especially with the whiskey bottle and the dim lighting.

Nice moment around 1:20 with Spock the Dude.
But yes, desjardins has captured my reaction as well: this is an octogenarian living on his own, dealing with rotten milk in his fridge and annoying neighbours, unable or unwilling to dress himself to go to the store. Hi-LAR-ious.

This version of the video is better than the original version (the one with the monkey masks). But, the song is terrible. I agree with desjardins that the video is sad. Sometimes, I think every guy (straight, gay, etc.) who grows old and doesn’t have a partner (whether through divorce, widowhood, or just having never met the right person) will eventually turn into Carl from Aqua Teen Hunger Force.

Spock rolls one up. I knew Vulcans were the coolest race in the universe

And who plainly doesn't give a fuck we or the kid in the store thinks about him. While it is indeed important to keep in mind the immense human suffering of so many seniors who manage to be forgotten by society by simply living linger than the people who care for them, I hope I find freedom like what Nemoy portrays here someday.

I was glad to go along with the idea that maybe he wasn't supposed to be Leonard Nimoy at all until the bit with Shatner on the TV and the Vulcan hands, and then the picture of the Spock kid took away any chance of it and spoiled the whole thing.

The meanness kind of ruinned it for me. Seeing Nimoy be The Dude was nice, and I was hoping he'd turn out to be the lovable slacker we got in The Big Lebowki (which this video makes obvious allusions to). But I mean using a fan letter to roll a joint and prop up your table? That's just bad karma.

I love the meanness. It's Nimoy mocking his whole image, which is funny because Nimoy is a sweetheart.
