That's nothing. In high school, the announcer once played the entirety of Lou Reed's Metal Machine Music over the intercom after a particularly impressive touchdown.

Funny, I was just watching Al Jazeera and the announcer segued from a story about Shakespeare to sport by delivering the following quote (with only slightly less glee than the lacrosse announcer): "As flies to wanton boys, are we to the gods, — They kill us for their sport."

It is kind of weird how it ended up as the sport of prep school WASPs despite being practically the only well known team sport that wasn't invented by Europeans or descended from one that was.
