In light of this I'll have to agree. We need more proof than public outrage at terrorist act from an unknown party to declare war on someone.

This paragraph is particularly interesting:
In this situation if we make the wrong decisions it can be very bad for us. Our critical concerns are our sovereignty, second our economy, third our strategic assets (nuclear and missiles), and forth our Kashmir cause. All four will be harmed if we make the wrong decision. When we make these decisions they must be according to Islam.

I forgot to add that this looks like the US accept Pakistan's nuclear programme in return.

Another point is that none of the announced hijackers and Osama Bin Laden, are of Afghan origin. Most of them are Saudis, which on PBS last night an analyst said that it now seems that the hijackers were not travelling under their own names and had stolen identities.
weird.

one of the hijackers was egyptian, i believe the ring leader muhammed atta (i am not sure of the spelling or the accuracy of that, just going off of memory). others were, as you say, of saudi arabian nationality or from other nations. but that isn't surprising; it's not as if bin laden's followers are or ever were from only one country.

adnanbwp, I just heard an interview on NPR with some people in a village in western Pakistan, near the Afgan border. It sounded like, by and large, people there were against the U.S. coming into the land at all (i.e. they weren't buying it) and that many are considering crossing the border to fight alongside the Afghanis if we attack the latter. One of the local journalists, who spoke english, said that they same can be heard in the northern region of Pakistan as well...
To be fair, it sounded like the group interviewed was composed primarily of Afghan refugees, if that makes a difference.
