this post scared me at first...
but the first link: we've found Techno Viking's mama!
second link: impressive, but now we can OFFICIALLY declare that breakdancing is OLD.
Now get on my lawn.

The first one is awesome. It's her complete grandma coat that makes it. But at the beginning she looks so lost and confused that I'm a little worried.
The second video has this comment: "And she has a fanny pack." Why are all the most useful things made fun of? Velcro shoes, calculator watches, fanny packs and probably many others. I don't own most of them (except cargo pants...AND SHORTS) often wish I could.

When I was a kid I dragged my folks to see Benny Goodman. I was 12 and I knew it'd be his last go-round so I had to go... I mean, it was Benny Goodman. I had a great time, even though I didn't see anyone else under 50 at the event.
Before the OK Go concert last year a couple roughly our age remarked that we were seemingly the only people over 50 present. When I mentioned that there were no seats and that we'd be standing for the show, their eyes got large. They left early. I stood down front and had a completely awesome time.
It's not about age. It's about the music, and not putting limits on yourself. These ladies have it right.

Who the hell kidnapped DU and replaced him with Andy Rooney?

Did you ever notice how old people have really bushy eyebrows? It's getting to where I have to be careful that I don't knock things over with mine. What's that about?

I hesitated to click that, given a certain association with a citrus fruit party that was totally NOT what it claimed to be. But this was fun.

I'm reminded of the comic at the top here (don't know about the page, it's just where Google images found a copy).

They've just been growing longer.
I mean, they've had longer to grow.

Age is just a number. This past winter I started running/exercise for the first time in my life. I'm 30. Sometime in December I was running on an icy morning (wind blowing, temperature at around -15 with windchill) and a 70 yr. old man ran past me. RAN! Throughout the winter I would see him run past me and a few times he slowed down long enough to tell me that he's been running for the past 30 years (marathons, half-marathons, anything in between). It's nice to see someone older than myself beating my ass at something I just started, gives me hope that ANYTHING is possible.

Well Granny has an unfair advantage because she's had longer to perfect her moves.

I keep going from video to video, and ALL of them have at least 100,000 views.... apparently I am not the only one enthralled with dancing grannies.

Oh my god, I just had an epiphany! I would be considered so much more cool if I just stopped coloring the gray in my hair!
(Not ready to go there yet, though. Even if this most recent go-round with the "L'Oreal, because I'm worth it" did result in my hair being sort of purple. But hey, I'm rockin' it. I think.)

Super cute, but I was worried the cute granny in the long coat might get jostled by one of those excited young men. Grannies are fragile. Don't knock 'em down!
