Dang. I had Grav Armor. I played it solo. And I still loved it.

I've had a link to this up on my website for a long time. I keep thinking I should just go through the links on my site one by one and write them up as Metafilter posts.
I printed off Star Smuggler but have still never gotten around to playing it. I think Dragon Rage is the only one I've actually played. Someday...
Interestingly, a lot of the games were co-written by Arnold Hendrick, who's one of my favorite game authors -- he also co-wrote Swordbearer, one of my favorite RPGs of all time, and Darklands, one of my favorite CRPGs of all time. I'm a big fan of Arnold Hendrick's work.

Dragon Rage is basically the same as OGRE, with a fantasy flavor. Well worth trying if you like that style of wargame.

Very cool - I've never heard of any of these, or even of single-player RPGs that weren't Fighting Fantasy-esqe Choose Your Own Adventure + d6 deals.
That Barbarian Prince post made me smart a little. Glad you had plenty of mates to play with, but some of us grew up in tiny backwaters where you got the shit kicked out of you if you played anything that didn't involve short shorts, balls and wrestling with other guys. I still remember the rainy day I got my hands on a copy of The Warlock of Firetop Mountain. I felt like I was in the NeverEnding Story. Good times.
