There must be a recognition of the self in its relation to the profession one proposes. If we do declare our profession, we must also keep the epistemological awareness. That is, if we are our profession, we must know it.
If Stanford has warm sunny weather in winter, the chemistry grad students reasoned that they should take advantage of it.

This is yet another attempt on the part of chemists to try to make themselves appear sexy. This never works. If you look at a list of the 50 sexiest scientists you won't find many chemists there.
Give up, chemists.

Mods please edit: not "Nobel-prize-winning," make that "Ig Nobel-Prize winning."
An Ig Nobel Prize is not a Nobel Prize. I detest the blurring of the Nobel Prizes with the Ig Nobels. This topic has come up on MeFi before, IIRC one of the Ig Nobel people even posted that they also don't like it when Ig Nobel people are referred to as Nobel Laureates.

Please note that they are not singing, "Im a recording engineer and I know it." Apparently chemists, although they may be sexy, do NOT know how to record vocals.
