Beat writer for the Detroit Lions, Tom "Killer" Kowalski died in August. A huge fan of The Princess Bride his last tweet, "OK fellas, here we go ... Sleep well, I'll most likely kill you in the morning ..."

I refuse to believe that Elizabeth Taylor has ever used three exclamation points in a row. I just refuse. I can only assume her publicist couldn't figure out a way to otherwise express the martini glass thrown at his/her head after they interrupted Ms. Taylor's life to ask what she thought of the interview with I-don't-have-the-time-for-this.

Arguements about the relevant 'notoriety' level of these 'notable' people aside... I'd rather be remembered by recollected memories or nothing at all, than from a 'tweet'

My takeaway was that you generally don't see it coming, or at least the manufactured persona that tweets for them in some people's cases (la Liz) sure doesn't.

the NYTimes still can't publish profanity, --- I don't think it's that they can't. I think it's that they won't. There are still circles of society who think profanity is a shitty thing to do.

They don’t want to publish profanity. I use it far too much, but I know better than to think that everyone in the world really wants to use that kind of language except there’s someone stopping them.

Well, I learned something (or rather re-learned it): It would be a great service to all if we could collectively agree, all together and once and for all, to refer to the messages on this useful and increasingly influential network as something anything, other than "tweets."
