Explanation of page divisions from 2010's BASGs:
"The problem with animated GIFs is that if you view too many at once, they can make your browser cranky. As such, I've divided this list into a series of pages, with no more than five GIFs per page. In addition, we have it set up so that larger GIFs will only play when you click them."
Hall of Fame Entries: Chris Bosch, Jack Wilson, and Shane Victorino.

Anyone who likes the horse racing one should know the source of that GIF: it's from a promotional flash game which was released in 2010 by some Japanese horse racing federation. It's all in Japanese, but you should totally play it, because it is awesome.
I know about this flash game because a video from it was posted on Metafilter back in the day. Looks like the video is sadly gone from Youtube, but you can still play the game.
And the game, I will say, is much funnier than that GIF.

Re: the girl having the ball stolen and from here:
The story doesn’t end so poorly, though. Somebody posted this blurb about it on Reddit.com:posted by griphus at 9:43 AM on January 4, 2012 [7 favorites]
“This happened in Houston vs the DBacks. One of the Dbacks players tossed the balls into the stand and that ***** grabbed it. The play-by-play and color guy saw it, pulled some strings, and delivered the girl an autographed ball. The story had a happy ending, but would have been happier if that ***** caught a fly bat to the face the next inning.”
This is the only way to watch sports.

Basically, everyone should stop being assholes and err on the side of giving the damned ball to a kid. Heck, if you fairly catch a ball, offer it to some kid sitting near you. You'll make her day.

Maybe this is simply a terminology thing but surely that's not a stiff arm? The whole reason for it's success is the bending of the arm in order to push the tackler and thereby give them too much momentum to stay on their feet.

One thing worth noting is that it wasn't a random foul ball or homerun ball being caught, where adults routinely scramble to catch the ball themselves and the ball is generally fair game for everyone. It was a ball that was caught by a fielder and thrown directly to the little girl after the inning was over, which is a common thing that most baseball fans are aware of, and the lady more or less stole the ball that was thrown to the girl as she was catching it.

It was a ball that was caught by a fielder and thrown directly to the little girl after the inning was over, which is a common thing that most baseball fans are aware of, and the lady more or less stole the ball that was thrown to the girl as she was catching it.
Good point, but that opens up the possibility that the lady thought the ball was intended for her (which still makes her an idiot, sure, and since as I said above she didn't immediately give the ball to the girl, it also makes her an asshole).
My favorite part, after watching it 100 times, is her the guy in orange. He looks at the lady, then he looks at the girl, then he's like "WTF?" Classic.

Oh, man, fullerine. If you then had that one lead into McCarthy from Edogy's link above who then started singing a Duran Duran cover, you'd have the decade wrapped up before it's even three years gone.

Eh?
I understand this argument when it's applied to centuries, but not decades. The current decade is the teens, i.e., years in which a '1' is in the tens position.

Explain to me the relationship between millenniums and decades. Better yet, explain to me how "the 20s" can include 1930, for example.
Then I will explain how your own nomenclature fails to support you. You are not grasping the difference between ordinal and cardinal numbers. Notice that I said "the 20s", not "the third decade". Similarly, although "the 20th century" did indeed run from 1901 to 2000, "the nineteen-hundreds" ran from 1900 to 1999.
The current decade of "the teens" will run from 2010 to 2019.

Kidding aside, it just isn't that awesome of a play. This one by Mikael Granlund would be a much better contender. Especially if you were to play it side-by-side with his brother, Markus Granlund's, goal.

Goalie blunder #1 would have to be my pick for favorite so far. There's something so very warm and schadenfreudish about it. (Plus, there's nothing worse when a fucking goalie saves your (admittedly weak-ass) PK.)
It's also the perfect example for coaches to say "see! SEE! that's why you always run out groundballs/chase down the breakaway layup/watch the ball all the way out/don't stop until the whistle blows/celebrate too early/etc" ... you don't get often get such textbook example of bone-headedness.
