Crap, it happened again. All it takes is one mention of Wings of Desire and I find myself staring at the wall for 10 minutes, deep in reflection.

I love this movie so much. Also of interest (maybe) is U2's video for Stay (Faraway, So Close!), which was directed by Wim Wenders and plays with the same ideas as Wings Of Desire.
Faraway, So Close! is actually the sequel to Wings of Desire, so you can see an entire other film in the same area. While Wings of Desire is one of my favourite films I was disappointed with the follow up, which tells the story of Cassiel, the partner angel of the main character in the first movie. It disappointed critically as well IIRC. U2 were in their Berlin phase at the time and do music within the film, hence the sound track.
