That could have been pretty damned funny, but it was just kinda bad. Bummer.

Well, Psycosis took on a hard challenge here, taking one of the more simple, emotionally raw albums in recent memory and combining it with hip hop hits - he could either make it funny, or, somehow, actually make it good to listen too. Sadly, outside of the titles, it isn't really that funny, and, from the little bit I have listened to, not particularly good to listen to. Still, the fact that someone made an effort is neat.

I really enjoyed the sacrilegious OFWGKTA/Neutral Milk Hotel mashups that were coming out last year:
"Drop the Aeroplane Over the Sea", "King of Assmilk Flowers" by gnarlo
"Communist Future" by Cyclops Rock

original's far, far better though I like the notion of someone hearing some of this stuff and eventually stumbling across the original. But, of course, I feel this way about the vast majority of mash-ups that choose to work from genuinely stellar source material. It's very hard to improve on fucking amazing!
That said, this is pretty damned good (nothing to do with Neutral Milk or hip-hop).

My first reaction was nonononononononononononono but King of Jesus Walks Pts 2 & 3 is pretty good.

Maybe somebody could get Eric Kleptone to do something with the idea; he could do it justice. This is fairly awful.

It's definitely not something I'd listen to with anybody who doesn't know the context or has a sense of humor about the thing but I do think it gets pretty all right later on in the album. Though my having gone through a phase where the 'Best of Bootie' mixes actually seemed like a legit thing could be clouding my judgement.

This is pretty bad, but it's not nearly as bad as the Hamlet 2-esque stage play from a few years ago.
