That last link is fascinating, I'd never noticed her voice being the same across airports.
I fly through Heathrow Terminal 5 a lot, and I notice the female announcement voice there has as a strange accent - English, but with a tinge of something vaguely continental that I can't identify. I heard the exact same voice in another airport too, I can't remember which but it was on the other side of the world.
I'd love to know if its some version of a "universal" English accent that's easier to understand in all dialects.

Ah! I just answered my own question... it's a robot! It uses Aviavox - even has a demo.

The mystery of the "voice" solved!
I remember the first time I flew into John Wayne Airport and I heard that voice familiar from Zappa's "Joe's Garage" album, "The white zone is for loading and unloading only..." Words could never be uttered with less emotion. I prefer Caroline's happy voice.

NPR covered a couple of these; here is their piece on Carolyn Hopkins, and here is one on making the Olympics sound "right".

I really enjoyed that documentary; it gave context to a lot of what I've been learning about music recently. Thanks!
