Former MTV State member Ken Marino will make you fall in love with him all over again! Did you love The State on MTV? More recent collaborations like Reno 911? The Ten? Party Down? Adult Swim's Children's Hospital? You may enjoy the Yahoo web series Burning Love, a pitch-perfect parody of reality shows like The Bachelor, but with so much more DRAMA! Narcissism! Alcoholism! Sexuality! Crazy eyes! Homelessness! Pantslessness!
Huffpo loves it, Splitsider loves it so much they asked Ken Marino more about roles he never played, while Aisha Tyler taps the source. Just TRY not to get lost in Ken's hunky arms, soulful eyes, and glorious soul*!

Marino wrote a very good little indie comedy/drama called Diggers. Very much in the vein of Breaking Away, which he admits inspired it.

I've always wondered why Marino wasn't the State's breakout star. Good-looking guy, can play broad comedy, done some pretty respectable dramatic work, from all accounts a pretty good writer...
(Geez, he was in Gattaca? So was Maya Rudolph. Weird.)

From The State, Tenement is about the most amazing sketch I've seen on television. The scene where he's standing awkwardly in front of the pre-school class is about the funniest single scene I've seen on television.
One heck of a comedic actor, in a troupe who always seemed to work better together than in their side projects.

Former MTV State member Ken Marino will make you fall in love with him all over again!
At first, I was going to argue with this statement, thinking that it implies that I have ever fallen out of love with Ken Marino. But then I realized that you can fall in love over and over again, and reading this Wikipedia entry:
He made multiple appearances on Charmed, Reaper and Rock Me Baby, and appeared in three seasons of Veronica Mars as private detective Vinnie Van Lowe... he was cast in the Starz original series Party Down. He also starred as a homosexual demon on the TV series Reaper. He currently plays Dr. Glenn Richie in the satirical television series Childrens Hospital
makes me realize, that yes, I've been falling in love with him all over again many, many times.
My problem with Burning Love is that it doesn't really seem that far removed from the genre of series it is parodying. It makes me laugh but The Bachelor does just as much. The parody just doesn't take a piece of my soul with me when it does.

Burning Love is really brilliant, and the cameos are fantastic. "Will you accept my hose?" makes me laugh every time.

I actually kinda liked Louie, but Marino was probably my least favorite State member. Sorry. Men Behaving Badly sort of ruined him forever.

See, I think the idea is better than the execution there. Probably just a personal aesthetic, similar to the Froggy Jamboree litmus test. I prefer Barry Lutz.

The best part about Louie is that he was created just because MTV asked them to create a character with a catch phrase. Louie was what happened when the kind boys and girl of The State decided to say collectively: "Fuck that." They created a memorable character with a horrible catch phrase who was legitimately funny. God, yes.
(Sorry, I've got The State on my mind after listening to Kerri Kenney-Silver on this week's WTF podcast. It made me have a little crush on her all over again.)

I remember spotting Marino on a first-season episode of "Angel" in which he played a sleazy guy who hooked up with Cordelia at a party and ended up impregnating her with his awful demon spawn. Which goes a long way towards explaining why Louie wanted to dip his balls in things...
