Awesomeness for sure. It's got 897 frames btw... I've just opened it in Photoshop.

Lies! There are scenes missing. I was waiting for that girl with the "love you" or whatever written on her eyelids, and they skipped past that.
But yeah, I do want to play pitfall now.

Wasn't there a flash of a heart from her location?

I suppose it is not, but this reminds me a lot of ANSI art animation. These almost look like they could have been made in TheDraw.
IMO, not a bad thing, at all.

So why on earth was the original movie 2 hours long?

That GIF would fit on two Apple ][ floppy disks (or one double-sided if you're living dangerously).

I took my son to see Raiders in the theater a few weeks ago. "Dad, this is the best movie I've ever seen...maybe even better than Star Wars!"
I'd forgotten how hardcore Belloq was.

I love Raiders and I love this Gif. Yeah it's missing the eyelids scene but overall it's pretty fun. It's kinda shocking that Speilberg and Lucas managed to basically distill the essence of pulp movies without turning it into a complete crapfest. Why did you turn into a hack Lucas?

It had the eyelid scene, it just did it symbolically.

That was amazing. It is missing most of the Evil Monkey Is Evil scenes (including "Bad dates") and the fight with the hefty German (the propeller wins), and some other stuff, but it hits all the highlights. I was mostly intrigued by how different people's animation styles can be with so few pixels! Threepwood's work was pretty great, and I would gladly watch hir version of Last Crusade.

katya.lysander: I've rewatched it recently. I'm no longer convinced that the monkey was evil , though it is what I always thought as a kid. The monkey is the one that eats the bad dates in the first place, so I'm not convinced that he was the poisoner.

I'm rather disappointed they completely glossed over the Indy fighting the Nazis in the truck and then under the truck scene, honestly. It got turned into about 2 frames.

Oh, man. If this were an 8-bit video game I would play the hell out of it. It reminds me a lot of the Rocky Horror Picture Show game I had for my Commodore 64 when I was a kid.
(Not having seen the movie and not having any instructions, it sure was a weird game.)

Take out the "maybe" and that's exactly what I said 32 years ago.

That's nothing. Here are the color-inverted versions of all eight paintings in the Rothko Chapel in a single character: █. I have to admit, the animation that takes you from one painting to the next is pretty subtle.

He didn't turn into a hack. He's always been a hack. Sometimes he has people around him who suppress his hackness and he can be part of something awesome, but he's still a hack.

I love how when they crash the statue into the wall inside the pyramid and push the block out to escape, it bounces on the ground, just like in the movie. Brilliant.

this is pretty much true, I think, but I would add that his hackiness comes from the fact that he can't tell his good ideas from his bad ones, which is why he does better when there are others around who have the power cut out the bad bits.
