PAX AMERICANA IN THE ARAB WORLD A calm voiced and knowledgable description with excellent links by Fouad Ajami, Professor of Middle Eastern Studies at the School for Advanced International Studies, Johns Hopkins University.
This is a good counterpoint to the Zinn thread. Fouad Ajami tends to the doctrinaire, but this is a good article -- nothing new, but well-written.

It strongly suggests something a lot of people have been talking about: the House of Saud may well no longer be an asset to us. Before this is over, I would not be surprised to see a significant political reformation in Saudi Arabia.
