The Idiot's Lantern

Some people like Doctor Who. Some people like The Big Lebowski.
If they were fused together in a Gluon Chamber they might look something like this shot-for-shot remake of the Big Lebowski trailer made by US fans for the recent Gallifrey One convention. (Original trailer and a side-by-side version for comparison).
Get out of my cab!

I actually laughed out loud at the Master, that seems fitting who he is in this version. ;)
Nice shout out to Community in this post too. Speaking of which, didn't expect Matt Lucas in that episode.

I'm a fan of both things, and I'm impressed with the level of involvement here. But I don't quite get it. It's The Big Lebowski with the characters dressed as Doctor Who characters, and a few key nouns changed in the dialogue. But, um, why? Normally when people do these mashups they're exploiting or pointing out a remarkable and/or hilarious congruence between the two that makes for teh funney. But this doesn't. So, y'know, well done, but, in a word, um.

I found this rather pointless. You shouldn't mess with The Dude.

The original is so goddamned awesome that even that totally unnecessary remake in the style that is almost, but not completely unlike the thing it purports to be still charms me.

I'm unable to post for a few hours, but Raymond Cusick - the designer of the Daleks - has died at the age of 84.
