Send Me To Heaven, a new app by Norwegian developer Carot Pop, will probably be the last game you play on your (Android) phone.
Your cell phone replacement plan has been canceled.

I had a similar idea a few years back that involved throwing your accelerometer equipped phone against a wall. The player with the highest rate of deceleration recorded, and a phone still functional enough to recover/transmit that data, wins. From memory I was going with the name Phone Stop.

An OtterBox Defender states that they can withstand a 10 foot drop or a 2 ton crushing force. In the former case, I would hope so – given what a 2 ton crushing force means.
1 ton-force = 9.80665 kN meaning that the case is designed to handle 19.6133kN of force.
My Otterbox defender weighs 120.2g and my Droid Razr Max weighs 145g for a total weight of 265.2g.
Plugging in the information into this handy dandy Impact Force calculator… to back calclulate the height that the phone can fall from…
I say that at the top of my parabola I can be 769.53855m high, or 1539.0771m of total travel distance. According to Wolfram-Alpha, that is 19x the standard Manhattan City Block or, more aptly described as 6.3x longer than the Hindenburg.
Now that I know the limitations, I have something to shoot for.

Good luck. Crushing force and shock force are two very different things.

So yeah, crushing force and shock force are different, but as you can see my question from Otterbox was unanswered. I worked with what I had.
Me: How many newtons of force can the OtterBox Defender Series case sustain?
Otterbox:
Hi [Nanukthedog],
Great question! However, we do not publicly rate the Defender Series case. I hope this helps answer any questions you may have. It is a great case, but unfortunately we don't have any of that specific information. Please feel free to reply to this email if you have any questions!
I think I send them a link to the app next...
