Archer reminds me so much of a former boss i had (even how he looks and dresses) that I can barely watch because it's like being back at that awful job.

I feel shame that this much joy was brought to me by something with a Kenny Loggins song in it. And more shame that I've watched it twice and now the song is stuck in my head.

Just imagine Meg Ryan in that scene with The Destruction of Sennacherib tattooed on her back. That's right, you can't.

I have a hard time imagine Archer high-fiving Cyril, even (especially) in his fantasies.

Said it before and I'll say it again: GTA-style Archer sandbox game with the real cast doing voices and close adherence to the show's aesthetic. I'd knock someone over to play it.

For the longest time, when people online raved about Archer, I thought they were talking about that live-action DC comics show, Arrow, and I was dumbfounded that that thing had somehow turned out to be awesome.

So thanks for clearing that up for me.

I would also accept the Archer version of Splinter Cell. It would need to include missions where you have to infiltrate while drunk, with wonky visual effects and motion controls. Also RAMPAGE mode.

...I'd take a pass on a realistic tinnitus feature, though.

I fucking love Kenny Loggins. That smooth motherfucker still writes good songs. He did not write this song. This song is a Giorgio Moroder effort.

Don't get me wrong, I love Archer and the use of this song and references to it. However, this song has been shitting on my music collection since 1986.

OK, but for better or worse, we usually classify pop songs by the recording artist, not the composer.

Rock Steady, you are indeed correct in how we usually classify songs. I am 200 billionty percent OK with the fact that we don't all think of songs in the same ways. I've just always found it interesting that Moroder was partially responsible for this song.

Having just watched the original for the first time in 20+ years, I am shocked how much of the movie is spoiled by it. I guess I vaguely remember that's the way it was back then, but it's still a little surprising.

Didn't the video come out after the movie? Wikipedia says both debuted in May, 1986, but I sort of remember the movie being first.

KRIEGER IS JUST FUCKING ROCKING OUT THIS IS SO AWESOME

Here's something important I discovered: Krieger is actually the main character of the show. Everything makes so much more sense when you look at it from that perspective.

Although, in fairness, it might be a bit of confirmation bias because everything he says sounds pretty much exactly like what I would say.

But the fact that he's rocking out just helps to prove my point. Who else is rocking out? No one. All Krieger, all day.

(except Pam, she may not be the main character, but she is my hero.)

Yes. Everything on the show is done to fund Kreiger's research, and provide him with RUSH vans and Pearl drums. Of course. It all makes sense now!

Hilarious, but that French kiss was probably the most disgusting thing I've ever seen in a cartoon. And I've seen a lot of cartoons.

That said, it may just be that, on an objective level, French kisses are pretty disgusting. Seeing it in cartoon form may just accurately represent them.

Okay, super late to the thread but here's a tip for anyone still reading: Back while reading the "bin Laden is dead" FPP I discovered that many of the more lively, active posts here can be read as comments by different Archer characters. Often, it can be as inappropriately hilarious as the show.
