My favourite part is the slow-mo instant replay of the action at 0:50.

Not quite as surreal as the last one; is Penny having a calming influence on Maymo?

My kitten is very excited by the broom. Have you ever tried sweeping with a small cat half-attacking, half-riding the broom? I would ghappily settle for the occasionally "run in and bite" routine....

poorly trained dog is poorly trained

except for the "I like to roll around in pickles" part which I mean who doesn't like to roll around in pickles you can't fault him for liking to roll around in pickles

True story from this weekend:

I take my dog out for a walk yesterday. We're walking and go to turn this corner where there's kind of a blind, and he (walking a bit ahead of me) sees another dog. He does a kind of jump-jolt thing, which causes the leash to fling out of my hands. Leash goes skittering off after him, the impact of the poobag holder on the ground making a bit of racket. The sound scares my dog, so he immediately stops and cowers as I go chasing after him. The roll of poobags of course spill out in a giant, majestic arc. I go to console my dog. Meanwhile, the other dog grabs the end of the poobags and goes prancing about with them, unraveling the rest of the roll and basically just enjoying a good rhythmic gymnastics routine. I go to grab the poobags from him and start to roll them up, while the other dog goes to sniff my dog. My dog is still a bit shaken from the whole thing, so isn't being his usual chipper self, just sort of slumping between my legs. Other dog doesn't like this, so bites my dog on the nose.

Watching Maymo unroll that toilet paper brought it all back.

My dog is ok, don't worry.

I hope they aren't weighing the marginal utility of producing successful youtube videos against that of a well behaved dog.

That's not going to work out well.

Now where do I get those stuffy dog face thingies....

Dumping probably-warm uneaten crudités on the floor after a party isn't something to be shamed; it's heroic. Nobody needs cut up room temperature bell peppers.

But what if there is delicious hummus? What then?

I want to create an art installment where an enormous room is filled with blinking Roombas trailing rolls of toilet paper and fill that room with dogs like this. You can hire the DJ.

Why not both?

I remember sitting down to watch some home videos that we'd taken weeks earlier and not watched at the time. We couldn't focus on whatever it was we had been deliberately filming, because there in the background, the entire duration of the video, were the two orange kittens, quietly and studiously going about their Serious Business of eating the straw broom.

Aren't bell peppers bad for dogs? I was kind of worried that Maymo was going to eat them.

At my vet's recommendation, I used to feed one of my dogs a mix of veggies once a week that included red, yellow or orange bell peppers. Never had a problem. They're members of the Solanaceae (nightshade) family, just as tomatoes are, but I don't think they're toxic to dogs.

But I'd check with a vet just to be sure.

For some reason, it made me remember this video of a dog grinning in guilt.

elizardbits:

+1 for the original video
-2 for forgetting the others

You have a negative balance. This means you must post another puppy video.

It's only fair.

This is why you leave the poo bags clipped to your pocket.

Then later you go into the fancy-pants grocery store and realize you still have a container of poo bags clipped to your hip and who are you even fooling you cannot adult responsibly.

Don't tuck them in a pocket. Flaunt your poo bags.

Think I like Maymo even more now, knowing he'll knock over a table if it has sliced cucumbers on it.
G'boy.
