Henry Rollins gets relationship advice from RuPaul [SLYT] in which we learn that "making room for other people . . . is as punk rock as hell."
There's nothing like road trip talk therapy. 'Who would you carpool with' could be the next 'who would you invite to a dinner party.' I quite like the final thought, about the realization of an effortless kindness can be an enormous gift for someone else.
Hopefully in some alternate universe they're co-leading a scout troop.

Is it just sort of understood now that the only way to convince Henry Rollins of anything is to explain that it's punk rock?

For more on RuPaul's philosophy of life, definitely check out his Girl on Guy interview with Aisha Tyler. Warning: multiple references to "The Universe."
Also, I believe Hank here holds the distinction of being the straight guy with the most appearances on the RuPaul's Drag Race judging panel, yes?

It's thought that the only way to convince Rollins of anything although why that's the tactic isn't necessarily clear.

I want this to be a series, with just these two. Ru will give Henry life advice, and they'll both SOLVE CRIMES!

Saying things are so punk rock! to Rollins seems somehow akin to when a white person inexplicably slips into hip hop slang when the person they're talking to is black.

RuPaul started out playing in punk bands, I think, so not exactly.

As a former punk it feels off when he says it. Like when most people say it.

I read RuPaul as RandPaul. It would be so cool if those two would change jobs for a week.

Do you know what's not punk rock? Volvo 240s, as much as I love em. Also not punk rock, cliche GoPro - shot car scenes with needless cutaways that include excessive close ups of Ru Paul's frames, and an out of focus pov shot off the car door.

Now listen Henry, you have to understand you are an Enlightenment man, and the most courageous thing you can do is realize that you must fight to maintain your individual liberty. As an independent and successful entrepreneur, you need to embrace the idea that you got to where you are by not compromising your moral principles and by valuing your own success first and foremost. You just need to find a partner who similarly rejects moral grayness and dependence, otherwise you're going to be just as enslaved by that relationship as the Founding Father's were by the Stamp Act.

Ya know - I can sorta like, imagine myself in Hank's shoes. There's something personable about him (at least, now there is... back in the day - that's a little more debatable) But Glenn? I can't even comprehend what it must be like to be Danzig. It must be truly horrifying to awaken every day, knowing that you are Glenn Danzig.
