Give the gift of GIF!

Gifpop is a tool to make custom cards from animated gifs, using the magic of lenticular printing.
They also have pre-made cards by gif artists like Mr. Div (previously) and Hateplow (previously)

update: said gif is actually slightly too long for them to completely print as another card (presumably because it tilts back again). It's a shame, because I was really starting to look forward to gifception.

Why did I parse that as "the magic of testicular printing"?
And why are we not funding that??

I've spent like 15 minutes plugging in things from the Wikipedia gif finder from yesterday. Most of them are >10 frames and don't work well when chopped shorter, but I can think of a few people in my life who might appreciate an autocollimator postcard for Christmas.
The Abney Effect one also seems like it'd be cool, but I can't figure out a way to control which part of the gif it zooms in on, short of downloading and cropping before upload.

Hi MeFi!
Wow, thanks for posting about us! We're limiting the printing to ten consecutive frames because we don't want people thinking they can upload ten distinct images and still have it looking good (there's always a bit of blurring working with this many frames). That said, there are great easy programs like Gif Brewery that we've been using to chop and shorten gifs without going through frame by frame. It's not ideal but if you email us we'd be happy to help you too!
Also, fun fact, we originally printed a bunch of these so you rotate left/right, but the spacing of your eyes becomes an issue with this many frames! That's why most lenticular animations (including ours) are up/down. For our artist prints we're able to do left/right because some of them go up on walls.

And Gifcam is an app that lets you capture anything on your screen and make an animated gif of it.. Just position and resize it, hit start, hit stop.

Nice find with Gifcam! We've been using LICEcap.
Also of interest are neat apps like Movidoodle or GifBoom (caution, selfies) for more ways of making your own gifs.

They need to include one of those sound-making modules so I can start sending ALL GLORY TO THE HYPNOTOAD cards.

Also, we haven't done it yet, but we'll probably be printing lots of out of copyright work like these amazing Muybridge gifs.
