What's it really like to be in comics

Throughout February, comics blogging giant David Brothers is doing a twice weekly series of interviews for the Inkstuds podcast, talking about "what cartoonists, academics, bloggers, critics, and other people in or adjacent to comics do". The first episode, in which he talks to Jimmie Robinson about Bomb Queen, Five Weapons and surviving in comics, is up now at Inkstuds and Comics Alliance. (Which has a lot of Five Weapons artwork up, so you might want to use that.)
Yeah, that's where I'm at. The concept of this series is great, but I'm so put off by Robinson's work that this negates everything else.

I don't really know his work other than by osmosis, so why is it so bad?

Halloween Jack pretty much nailed it- Bomb Queen really looked like the work of someone who'd learned all the wrong lessons from Mark Millar.* "Edgy" crud about an "ironically" oversexed female supervillain who rules a city with an iron fist zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.
*I know, this assumes that there are right lessons to learn from Mark Millar, which may not be the case.
