This seems to be illustrated with particularly unappetizing pizzas.

A woman needs a man like a pizza needs anchovies.
So, yes!

This seems to be illustrated with particularly unappetizing pizzas.
Knowing that it is to be subjected to the cold appraisal of the male connoisseur and that its prospects may depend on how it is seen, a pizza learns to appraise itself first. The objectification of pizza produces a duality in pizza consciousness. The gaze of the Other is internalized so that pizza becomes at once seer and seen, appraiser and the thing appraised.posted by zamboni at 12:44 PM on March 3, 2014 [13 favorites]

So how many of you have had their penises compared to an anchovie? Just me, then?

I do not understand the reason this tumblr exists, or is popular
To be fair this does not differentiate it from many other tumblrs

I like it because I like feminism and pizza.
I can't be sure, but I would guess a lot of its other fans feel the same way.

I like pizza. I wanted this to be good, because pizza. I just couldn't get into it, though. Which, no big deal, but all the adulation for this Tmblr (which the author goes out of the way to highlight, even to the point of reposting the positive comments in the threads) feels out of proportion to the content.
Giving the author the benefit of the doubt, this may just be a question of timing. We could be discovering this right at the moment when accolades > new content.
Still, I am finding, as I go through these Tmblr posts, that the noise to signal ratio is pretty high. Once in a while you find a gem that makes you smile, but the majority fall flat.
Which is understandable, I think. Simply substituting the word pizza into feminist quotes may be a fun meme, but the joke gets tired after a while. Even the delicious pizza imagery can only carry it so far. Most memes that simply recycle content rather than inventing anything new run out of steam eventually and new ones pop up to take their place.
I find the lavish praise being heaped on this Tmblr, given that familiar trajectory, a bit mystifying.
TL;DR: This pizza falls apart when you try to eat it. Too many toppings, not enough crust.
