Elmo can't sleep and Ricky Gervais offers a Celebrity Lullaby. Poor Elmo. Ricky Gervais is no Brad Pitt.
Lay your fuzzy head down... great stuff.

I think he showed too much cleavage. For god's sake this is a children's show.

This is one of my favorite Sesame Street video clips, although I also enjoy Elmo with Katy Perry and, of course, Elmo with Robert DeNiro. My kids think that DeNiro is hilarious.

"Give me four Elmo." Never noticed Elmo only has four fingers.

Elmo is a boring muppet. He has no edge, no personality other than an annoying voice. All the other Sesame Street characters have some kind of hook or personality. Elmo is lame. Thanks for the clips though.

Andrea Bocelli sings Elmo to sleep is a sweet followup to the Gervais.

If we're doing "taking the piss out of Ricky Gervais," even Elmo can't hold a candle to David Bowie.

My favorite part was,
"NA NA NA NA NA NA NA NA NA NA NA NA NA NA NA NA!"

We love this bit in our family. I should say, my husband and I love to sing the Ricky Gervais parts and our daughter mostly yells NOOOOOO!

Elmo is always portrayed as younger than the other muppets. Elmo is the muppet that toddlers/preschoolers identify with. He struggles with the same things they do, like potty, bedtime, etc. He's perpetually about 3 years old.
I always thought Elmo was super annoying too, until my son latched onto him. Little kids just really like Elmo.

Elmo has edge, you just have to wait for it. See if you can find the Sesame Street episode where Zoe has a wedding with her pet rock, Rocco. Elmo nearly loses his mind, the snark is glorious.

If Elmo can't sleep, maybe someone should turn down the blindingly bright light in his bedroom.
