While Peter Capaldi has begun his promotional world tour as the Twelfth Doctor—with Youtube streaming upcoming appearances live on its official channel—artist and fan Stephen Byrne has imagined the very much unofficial Twelfth Doctor's Animated Adventures. posted by Doktor Zed (16 comments total) 8 users marked this as a favorite

It's weird because where Capaldi is a "known quantity" of sorts, it's easy to imagine we can predict what sort of Doctor he'll be, although I doubt he'll have properly bedded in even by halfway through this series (who could?!).

Blimey, I love my Who!

[Also, is that Michael Smiley in one of those clips? Absolute star!]

Gravity Falls was already the only "kids" cartoon to include elements from The X-Files AND Twin Peaks... but that VERY Falls-Influenced 'Animated Doctor' intro shows how much more is possible...

That FPP title line from the clips link is very The Thick of It.

And if you were betting three comments in before someone mentioned The Thick of It, well done.

PLEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAAASE tell me one of the stops Peter Capaldi will make on his world tour will be to do a guest spot on the Late Show with Craig Ferguson.

Doctor Who was envisioned as an educational programme, so this is actually pretty cool. They could go back in time and learn how the alphabet came about, for example.

VERY Falls-influnced? It's more than a homage that's for sure.

Where Ben Wheatley goes, can Smiley be far behind?

I'll always think of as Peter Capaldi as Oldsen.

Yes! I almost posted the same thing a minute ago. He falls in love with a mermaid!

And now for something completely different: from the Seoul segment of the Doctor Who world tour, Eight Seconds of Peter Capaldi Dancing.

The world doesn't end because the Doctor dances.

I do like the ambiguity of that.

And here's the full trailer for Capaldi's premiere episode, "Deep Breath". (In more disappointing news, the live streaming of the World Tour's Q&A sessions appear to have been canceled.)

The BBC continues to tease Capaldi's Doctor: Faces. "It's covered in lines. But I didn't do the frowning. Who frowned me this face?"

Plus, following the announcement of Series 8's official episode titles, Moffat has provided the Radio Times with a guide (quasi-spoilers, I suppose).

Oh, and the BBC iPlayer will have an exclusive behind-the-scenes "Doctor Who Extra" series.

Bonus: Tyres will be in episode 2!

Good grief, I could use some inconsequentially diverting entertainment news this horrible week.
