"America is Blinded on Human Rights" Christopher Hitchens comments on the U.S. and international standards of human rights.
Oops, forgot to say... You are either with us, or against us!

Yeah, well, I certainly don't lean to the right, but I'm fed up with scary-smart Christopher Hitchens.
I imagine he has those same little cards that Wile E Coyote carries.
Christopher Hitchens : Genius.
I haven't seen someone who so needs you to be impressed with him since Geraldo.
Like most politically charged mouthpeices, you know what he's going to say before you read it. The same predictable fluff churned out in his quest to become a sort of pseudo-intellectual brand name. Shut up.
And learn how to button a collar, you fuckwit. You're in your forties.

Your argument is oversimplified! You have the blood of thousands on your hands! There is only one side to this issue, my side!
Right-wingers amuse me.
Yeah, because the far Left would never have such an attitude, would they? Particularly not in reference to, say, the war in Afghanistan.
Cognative dissonance is a wonderful thing to behold.

Well Hitchens has been a rabid and vocal supporter of the war,and in this article spoke highly of Bush,so I think his thought processes are a bit more complex than dong resin assumes.
Personally,I am somewhat relieved he seems to have paused in his march to the right.
That cowlick of his is very irritating though.

Well, we're together on the cowlick, Fat Buddha. That's the important thing.

It might be, or that might be a non sequitur instead.

Fat Buddha - Generally speaking, Christopher Hitchens, doesn't consistently march in any direction, which is why some people hate him; but it's why I love him.
Sure, he can be an infuriating contrarian bastard at times, but that's how he bills himself pretty much, right? Besides, we need contrarians, if for no other reason than to keep ourselves from becoming smug and knee-jerk in our opinions and to always remind ourselves to take a good long look at the other guy's view rather than reflexively dismissing it out of hand.

From the article:
But the recent images from Guantanamo Bay - a base that was, by the way, acquired by an act of imperial aggression in the first place
that's worthy of a thread in it's own right IMO.
