Entangled. "Forced to care for her catatonic lover Malcolm after a secret quantum experiment goes awry, Erin is determined to uncover the cause of his condition — even at the risk of her own life. This riveting contemporary science-fiction story, from one of the writers of Orphan Black, bridges alternate dimensions as it explores how far a person will go for someone they love." From the TIFF 2014 festival.
This deserves a lot more play time than it's going to get, but also makes a point quite well that i've been making for years.
Mainly, how many Elysium type hollywood movies would be better served being like, eh, ~15 minutes long like this? It's far too easy seeing how this story could be milked out into a 2.1 hour movie when it doesn't need it at all.

love this. it works as a short, yes, but I could also see it as a series. brings a whole new notion to the idea of doppelgangers.

Very well done: taut, intense, fast. I appreciate the quick and light explanations.
