Text Neck

Texting can be a real pain in the neck (and what to do about it)
HuronBob, that joke is still a central pay off my Dad's repertoire. Oddly enough, he has no neck pain.

Czech neck? We all like to party, but only a fool would say "Yeah, I'll enter the nightmare of cake."

You don't even need to be texting or smartphoning in general for this to happen. Got a tablet, laptop, desktop computer? Then get your freakin' screen up at normal eye level and keep it there so your back stays straight, lest you end up a decade or two from now with degenerative osteoarthritis at C5 and C6 (what we used to call "the typing muscle" in college) that will permanently fuck up your neck, back, shoulder, and arm mobility and make many basic functions quite trying and painful. Ask me how I know this.

Yeah, my right arm/hand has been "going to sleep" lately, generally starting when I'm looking down at my phone...

It occurs that Google Glass would be a solution here.

Bet with Google Glass you're trading the neck problems in for computer vision strain (link pulled from article).

That could be so many swell things: repetitive stress tendonitis or mild carpal tunnel, and/or referred symptoms from radiculopathy originating in your neck, and/or -- this is the one the entire text generation is going to have very soon: the beginnings of basal thumb joint arthritis, right where your thumb meets your wrist. I've developed that in the last year or two from dog-walking.
