it's neat, though I wonder what they've done to the paint to make it run that much or the technique using to make it run like that ..

I want them to do this but with some sort of stick squeeze arm and to frame the shot so that we never see the people working on it and it's just a weird magical paint box that slowly grows.

Paint. They're pouring paint. They're pouring paint on a wooden box.
To quote the great Samuel Johnson: "When a man is tired of 'pouring paint on top of paint on a wooden box' timelapses, he is tired of life."

Am I the only person who was set on edge by them not pouring in the damn centre of the box? Auuuugh.
Very cool to watch, though the music should have been Jefferson Airplane or something.
(Also the youtube link skips to 183 seconds in, might want to ask a mod to fix?)

I liked the part where they poured the paint on the box.

Neat. I found it interesting that the corners never got painted for any of the boxes.

It'd be awesome if later on they removed the boxes to let the paint stand up on its own.

I know. Exactly. It's just like watching porn. I hate myself, but I think I'm ready to watch it again.

Nice. I hope if they are intended to last, that the plywood does discolor the paint over time ( that is assuming that it is not some sort of fancy conservation MDF).

These are neat, but I wonder why after one or two didn't get painted in the corners, they didn't start bevelling the box corners so the pain would run to the very edges. Would that have messed up the petals on the floor?

Or they could have poured paint faster, causing it to spread faster. But this is not an experiment in fluid dynamics, these are presumably aesthetic decisions. I did notice an interesting painting standing up against a wall that was apparently executed on a flat surface, and I know other artists using these flow techniques on flat surfaces. I used to have a studio next to a horrible artist who did this sort of thing with pourable urethane foam, which created mountains of plastic garbage, and then he'd pour his solvents down the storm drains out on the street, because he didn't have a sink in his studio, nor did he have the inclination to recycle instead of dumping them.
