That was a fascinating article. All the mini-enclaves! The keen understanding of nationalism (the cows and the liquor, specifically). The sad stories of the people trapped in no man's land (although WTF author, six sad stories are too much for you in one day? what about the people living them!).
Quite a cast of characters and it sounds like Modi will do just as much harm and help as the last hundred years of rulers have done.
