GodHatesFlags "If you don't start burning flags, I am so going to destroy your villages! So sayeth your LORD."
God also apparently hates fundamentalists, America, Fred Phelps, and figs. And It sometimes just hates, in general. Anyway, here's a good story about the whole Godlovesfags incident.

The bible also, several times, condemns diving with weights as an abomination.
(Just a notice to all you scuba diving sinners!)

If this post stays, I'm going to have some serious questions about MeFi's editorial policies. Much tamer links get pulled faster.

Welcome to the God Hates Flags homepage. This page is dedicated to preaching the Gospel Truth As I See It about the soul-damning, brain-twisting, gut-busting, ass-kicking, nose-picking, belly-laughing, nation-destroying, child-killing, wife-beating, sheep-bleating notion that "It OK to be patriotic."
Once again, a slightly clever stab at humor is destroyed by poor copy editing.

More snide and incredulous remarks from the anti-God metafites.
Revelation 22
18 I warn everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this book: If anyone adds anything to them, God will add to him the plagues described in this book. 19 And if anyone takes words away from this book of prophecy, God will take away from him his share in the tree of life and in the holy city, which are described in this book.

I have no beef with god as long as I can use weights when I scuba.

Is that supposed to frighten us, aaronshaf? Surely even you must realize that if people are blaspheming God (to put it in terms you'll understand) then they're probably not afraid of him (given that they don't think he exists, you know). So threats from a book that purports to be his word is probably not going to have a whole lot of effect.
Also, nice double post. I like how you quoted the same passage twice with a different set up. Apparently on the theory that something that wouldn't scare us once would scare us if repeated.

I wanna burn a flag as a statement of patriotism. In fact during the Olympic opening ceremony they shoulda burned the flag that is all screwed up and replaced it with a flag in perfect shape. that's what we're supposed to do with messed up flags. You burn the flag and buy a new one. It's capitalistic and A-1 American.
God said something once about not putting any idols before Him, and I think He'd include pledging to flags in that idol thing, but I doubt He has anything personally about flags themselves, just how people use them.
