Deerhunter - Snakeskin [YouTube] Atlanta art-rock band Deerhunter announced its seventh LP, Fading Frontier, Sunday, and premiered the abstract video for its lead single, "Snakeskin." Fading Frontier comes out Oct. 16 on 4AD. via: NPR Music

Man, that is one eclectic band! I love Deerhunter and hope they come through NYC sometime soon.

I quite like Deerhunter. They've got lots of bits that are very much like things I like very much, but it never quite stacks up.

And there's minimalist funk and then there's minimalist funk...

Looking forward to this. Not sure they'll ever be able to top Cryptograms but I sure do enjoy pretty much everything they put out.

I think I'll always confuse Deerhunter with Deerhoof, despite liking both immensely.

Also this is very good song; it goes some very wonderful places. I didn't even know they were working on an album; I am excited!

I loved the Microcastle album. Found their follow ups dreadfully boring, same when I caught them on a festival (although, good luck going after Battles, anyone) and they fell off my radar. This doesn't make me want to go back.
