Like Sim City, but without all the fun parts

Open GeoFiction is a user-editable map of a fictional world built on top of the Open StreetMap platform.
The goal of Open GeoFiction is verisimilitude, which opens up a whole different world of possibilities from fantasy maps.
New users can try their hand at creating a city (or other feature) on any of the open territories. Just don't flood a continent!
After you've gotten the hang of mapping, you can claim a territory for yourself, or collaborate with others. You can also contribute information to the Wiki for each of your creations.
Some of the more intricate/interesting cities on Open GeoFiction include:
Khaiwoon - map, wiki
Latina - map, wiki
Cordoba - map, wiki
Wiwaxmouthe - map, wiki
Tarott - map, wiki
Previously on Open StreetMaps: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5
Happy Mapping!

Just don't flood a continent!
Q: Why is everything flooded?
A: The elder gods have really specific skin-care requirements, and constant submersion in salt water is #1 on their list of age-defying tricks.

Yeah, from what I've seen, it is always this slow.
As far as editing/creating maps, I have done it offline in JOSM, but that doesn't help with browsing Open GeoFiction

Looks like it might be interesting, but running slow (am at start mapping stage.) Will wait until a little later to see if things get speedier.

Has everyone mapped their local region in OSM so completely that they are moving to a fictional world? C'mon people! There are still water fountains and bicycle parking racks to map!

Norðurland sounds very much like MeFite wish fulfilment;I mean it's a bigger Iceland, with a successful technology industry, overwhelmingly left-wing politics, complete secularism and an impressive railway network…
