And his consort, Tyrannosaurus Bathory

Here's Dinosaur Dracula, a pop culture retro nostalgia site from the guys who formerly brought us X-Entertainment (currently "down for repairs"), the subject of many many MeFi posts. Some pages of interest:
- TV Guide listings for Halloween 1990
- Excerpts from the 1989, 1992, 1998 and 1999 Sears Wish Books.
- Comic Book Ads.
- The Masters of the Universe Slime Pit, which had great instructions, and the sliming of Jimmy "Mouth of the South" Hart. There's more....
- Companion oddities Tumblr Mummy Shark.
- Podcast The Purple Stuff
- Pokemon food.
- Old soda cans.
- Count Chocula through the 90s.
- Slimer Toothpaste!
- Reading the novelization of Halloween III: Season of the Witch.
- A long and highly personal review Sega's Casino Games.
- Nintendo Memories.
- The long-running series Five Random Action Figures.
- The short-running series Junk Food of the Gods.
- The most 80s Halloween commercial ever: Fuddruckers Halloween 1989.
No lie, I almost titled the post that.

Fuckin Count Chocula. Maybe 6th or 7th grade we had a food diary we had to fill out for health class and then go through, marking our sources of various nutrients. We were poor and I was a fat kid who ate like shit, and my main source of iron for the day was Count Chocula. Teacher crossed it off and wrote that it wasn't a source of iron. It's right there on the label, lady. Still bitter. Fuck that. Chocula 4 life.
(Okay I probably wouldn't buy or eat Count Chocula these days. But still.)

Oh my god, I didn't realize they were doing this stuff again. Hooray, thank you!

I'm a big fan of Matt's stuff. Hits the sweet spot of nostalgia, novelty food and toys. Side note: I am pretty sure he is the sole proprietor of both sites? ("the guys who brought you...").

Oh man, this really takes me back...not to the 80s, but to this 2003 FPP about Fearless Photog, which is what first seared MetaFilter into my consciousness as a really cool place to read about fascinating stuff.

For me this could be titled "where to go once you've read all of TV Tropes and need to lose another decade of your life." It's a good thing I'm at work or I'd look up from the screen and it'd be midnight.
It's amazing how everything in the 1989 Sears Wish Book is like yesterday to the point that I can smell it, yet the 1998 one looks completely foreign to me. I just missed most of that stuff completely.
The 'Old soda cans' page is sadly missing Hubba Bubba. It was a little earlier than most of those pictured, but it was my favorite when I could find it.

I used the plural just in case more than one person was involved. In cases of uncertainty, using the plural when actually singular seems less of an affront than when using the singular when actually plural. Or that's what I think whenever I'm considering the issue.
I love the site so much. He has a great mix of fond memory and recognition of insanity. And it's got a great name.

I love comic book ads from that era, so I just clicked on that link first and I was so excited to see that the weird 1985 Reese's alien ad they printed was different than the weird 1985 Reese's alien ad I instagram med when I was bagging and boarding old comics at my parents' house earlier this year! Shadamedafas means "I traveled [large number] for Reese's
