For those who prefer something suitable for Chanukah, here as well is a recipe for latkes.

They look like the kind of cookies that people who read Magazines try to make. As a once-professional, I'll give them (minus peanutbutter+cheese) a run, though.
If they don't pass my threshold of awesome (thank you Mr Taylor), I will be on the internet in moments, doing something else, while consuming disappointing cookies.

Uhm, bearwife, I LOVE latkes, but they're most definitely not a cookie.

The buckwheat cherry thumbprints looks delish, to be honest.

In what way are the rest of these not suitable for Chanukah
I mean they aren't fried but that can be corrected

Cookies are always suitable! Just not necessarily traditional for this holiday. Having said that, I feel I can speak for most all Jews everywhere in saying that Chanukah can only be enhanced by More Sugary Things.

The ten cookies that make all other cookies irrelevant are the first ten cookies I eat when I meant to just have one.
I'm lying. All of the cookies I eat when I meant to have just one are relevant. Highly relevant. To my interests. My many and varied interests. Which require fuel to pursue. A great deal of fuel.
My sweet sweet dear little cookies. Gone too soon from this world.

Flourless low-fat chocolate chewies which were a very close third at the office bake-off (missed second after, from what I understand, three rounds of new judges). However, twelve makes for a ridiculously large cookie--do twenty-four. Also, use Scharffen Berger cocoa.

I have been wanting to make this cookie from Lucky Peach. I might even be able to veganize it with coconut oil and flax meal.

This is timely, I'm making about a million cookies today. Most of the recipes are from the food52 cookies around the world list. The Nigerian coconut crisps are in the oven right now. It's a fussy recipe but seems delicious so far.

Stoked to try the spiced chocolate recipe. I've made several variations, never disappointed, but this one looks like a step above the others. Sweet, thanks!

Every main episode of You Are Not So Smart ends with a listener-submitted cookie recipe that the host tries out on air. A very incomplete listing is here, but please note that two of the recipes include ginger.

something I learned this weekend: if you fill this tray with cookies and chocolates, and put it on the table after dinner while yelling "tower of treeeeeeeats!!!" your guests will be very impressed.
