Interesting stuff. This one reminded me of arguments I had back in college, not to mention Lenin opposing efforts to help starving peasants in the 1891 famine because "the worse things get, the better it is for the revolution." Leftists can be real jerks (just like all other humans, of course).

Oh cool. I will need to set these aside to check them out. I've been noticing "graphic histories" getting traction (check out this awesome one about colonial Ghana!) as teaching, popularization, and even scholarly tools, and was wondering when anthropology would catch up.
