Skullmapping have created the first two in a series of animation projections that portray a miniature chef making dinner on a real dining table: Bouillabaisse and another where he whips together a grilled steak. [via Colossal]

I recall seeing projected logos and ads on sidewalks in NYC when high-definition projections became a thing awhile back. Watching this made me wonder when we will start to see little projected ads/entertainments appearing on our tables in trendier eateries.

Very cute little creations (although I would be frustrated on not being able to eat what I saw before me.)

BRB kickstartering a restaurant chain based on this concept. (Seriously, I love this shit. I should have been an Imagineer.)

Adorable. Amazing that Disney hasn't incorporated it into its theme park restaurants yet.

OMG I want it now!! Can you have, like, little miners slowly chipping away at rock on my desk at work all day?

Oh, they're definitely working on it.

I would be frustrated on not being able to eat what I saw before me.

It seemed like they specifically served the exact meal that the tiny chef prepared. In the full-restaurant version, I picture each different menu item being prepared with its own animation. Delightful!
