So this bit of information amused me more than it should have:
I looked up the IP address of endless.horse and then did a reverse lookup on the IP. The reverse lookup was endless.horse. So it would seem someone may have actually dedicated an entire IP address - a scarce resource these days - to just this.

Does jscroll automatically load the link at the end of the div? How is that specified? I've been trying to find decent documentation for jscroll, and I'm not having very much luck.

Well, of course it did--otherwise the address wouldn't resolve to a knowable point in 3-space. And that would be putting Descartes before the .horse.

This reminds me of my brother's concern that I was taking pointless pictures and throwing away the limited read/write lifespan of some digital media (maybe on compact flash, back when I had less than a GB on a card, and used a 3GB "pocket drive" to back up those photos when on a trip). Now flash memory is dirt cheap, and I have a sizable collection of old flash memory cards in varying sizes.

yes, the closing credits on that clip includes an actor named Howard Wendell whom I did not know existed until now but apparently was the 10th listed cast member of "Gentlemen Prefer Blondes".

.horse domains are my favorite. sadly many of the ones that came out when it was released just over a year ago are expired. goodbye horse.horse. farewell horsehorse.horse. goodnight horsehorsehorse.horse. even whatis.horse is gone. I mourn thee all. iirc most of them were sort of ytmd style one-stop pages but they were all fun. glad to see bad.horse is still trucking though, and happy to see this site carrying on the torch
sadly nobody ever put party.horse to good use. and I may have snatched one up for my own nefarious uses, now also sadly expired

there were tons of .horse domains taken right out of the gate (har har). maybe he popularized it on a larger level, but i had multiple friends literally waiting for it to be released and those sites i mentioned previously were all up almost immediately. of course, maybe i just have weird friends, and too much time to type in [randomword].horse
still, I think a ".horse" domain just sort of lends itself to immediate tomfoolery

NormieP: "Does jscroll automatically load the link at the end of the div? How is that specified? I've been trying to find decent documentation for jscroll, and I'm not having very much luck."
Looking at the source what it does is when a certain scrolling event takes place to look for the very last "a" element in the div, fetch the value of the href attribute, and append it to the containing div. So normally the data that's fetched would end with its own "a" element pointing to a different place, thus enabling the scroll. I expect (but I'm not testing this now) that you would need to send an "a" with no "href" to get the scrolling to end.
The hooooorse thing abuses this simple mechanism by hardcoding a static legs page with no "a" tag inside it. So every time you hit the "fetch more data" scroll event, it looks for the last "a" element in the div, which never changes. Cute.
