Nethack 3.4.0 has just been released...If you're not excited then, well, sucks to you.
In point of fact, it does suck to be me. I don't suggest it for anyone.

I still prefer Angband. But my Nethack pals will be wetting themselves by now, I expect.

I've never understood Nethack, or at least not the glee that spreads throughout the net whenever some minor update comes along. Do you not ever win? Does the game never end?

aaron: the fascinating thing about NetHack is the huge number of situations that the coders have foreseen and written separate events for. There's a bizarre amount of completely silly stuff you can make happen by, for instance, kicking a sink while under the influence of various things. Now who would ever think of kicking a sink in the first place? No idea, but the NH team did.

Do you not ever win?
Yes, you can win.
Does the game never end?

He didn't say "sucks to be you," he said "sucks to you." An important distinction and an offer I can rarely refuse.
