A Serving of Scores

Love the music from the Star Wars: The Clone Wars and Star Wars: Rebels? No? What about from Hell on Wheels or Making A Murderer? Perhaps Jane the Virgin? The composer behind these shows is Kevin Kiner and on his website, he's uploaded selections from his work on the above shows and a few more to listen to for free.
Oh, man. I just realized that one day my kid is going to be browsing a website like this, and will turn to me and ask "Daddy, what's Wing Commander?"

My favorite Rebels music moment is the jaunty upbeat version of the Imperial March. Happy Empire Day everyone!

I was just thinking about how the impressive it is that even the music on Jane the Virgin keeps up with the whiplash-fast tonal shifts as proficiently as the writing, acting, direction, etc. It's a really amazing feat. There's no time to transition between moods, so somehow, a musical phrase can contain its own potential transition, even while it's perfectly suited to the moment. Like the rest of the show, it's nuts and I love it.

Could have sworn I heard some Indiana Jones in Rebels the other day.
