As they say... ideas are easy, execution is hard. This was a very well-executed piece of work.

In an era when so many IRL things are being re-created in VR, CGI or other alphabet soup technologies, I support things like this which are going in the opposite direction.

The creator says they're hoping to get in touch with a hardware manufacturer, which is awesome. I grew up playing Pong and I WANT ONE OF THESE OMG

The comments on the Kotaku article about this had one guy who couldn't understand that this wasn't the same as air hockey. But it made me think about the unreal yet completely intuitive physics of Pong. I'm old enough to have played Pong when it was released in 1972 (I was seven and already a pinball enthusiast) and as far as I can recall, no one ever, from the very beginning, had any trouble immediately understanding the peculiarities of how the "ball" bounces off the paddles. It's the most genius thing about the game's design.

Yeah, my lawn too,
I've been considering what directions my creativity would take me, but this is way beyond my abilities.
But I like.
