We are gonna have a cat party!

Koo Koo Kangaroo is one of the strangest bands I've seen in some time. I have no idea how these people got their cats wedged into their music video, or why.

Koo Koo Kangaroo writes songs about a lot of things, including fanny packs, unibrows, and ninjas. Their YouTube channel features several dance-a-long videos, but if you really want to dance along, you should probably catch one of their (all ages!) shows.

How did they get all those cats in one room without bloodshed?

It's not a party _for_ cats, it's a party _of_ cats.

Well, I can safely predict this song will now replay in my head for the next 12 days straight.

HA! I teach elementary school and these guys have a channel on the BEST thing to come off the internet for silly kids: gonoodle.com. It is a congregated space where you can watch silly videos and things to get your students up and moving throughout the day. I personally make my kids do "fresh start" which is some brodudes leading kids through 5 minute workouts. We also have been loving some of the dance along videos, but 4th graders generally think they are too cool for these. If you have children younger than 11 I highly suggest this! My favorites are kitty high-five and pop see koo.

I'm surprised how good-natured the majority of those cats were. My cats would have freaked.

I'm a 62-year-old curmudgeon and I thought as I watched the video: "Yeah I would have liked this and promptly forgot about it thirty years ago, back when there was no Youtube or even much of an internet. Now I have other options, and I also have a ten-gig data limit per month. Wasted some of that!

I met these guys recently. Nice odd people with gold fanny packs

I was into cat parties before they were cool, but this is definitely going onto my confirmed bachelor late night solo dance party playlist.

This got a "What is this I can't even" out of me and I haven't used that phrase in months.

Koo Koo Kangeroo! I saw these folk supporting Frank Turner 2 years ago, and it was smile inducing, but totally odd. The Dunfermline crowd (including me) did not know what to make of them, but they wow do they bring energy to their shows. They also brought a parachute so everyone could live the joy of running/wheeling under a parachute to get to the other side. This was very pleasing to me.

sarcas, I came in to mention the same experience. It was totally bizarre, and at first no one could tell if they were satire or not. My sister and I were pretty close to the stage, and a few minutes in we saw Frank come out to watch from the side, and he had a look of absolute joy on his face. We decided then that he probably personally invited them on tour, and this was a completely genuine experience. It was much more fun once the audience realized it wasn't a prank, and everyone let their guard down to join in.

Yes, this song is on all the family playlists for about the last year. My husband and kids saw them at the Doom Tree Zoo!

I used these videos so much when I taught elementary, and I'm glad they're still doing them. The new ones are a huge step up in quality.

This got a "What is this I can't even"

grrraw, there just is something not quite right with them folks.

(well as long as there is not some ichy scandal after a few years then well, go ahead, but, ok, for the under 11 crowd, I guess but isn't there a Mr Rogers youtube channel? )

Total bullshit.

Cat people don't 1) like spending time with people or 2) have friends or 3) laugh at their cat relationships.

This is not real life. I call shecatigans.

I first got to see these guys opening for The Aquabats in 2010, and it was the greatest time ever. They really bring a lot of energy (and a playground parachute) to their shows! Here's me (glasses, long hair) and some high school friends with Brian -- they had a camera set up in the venue for everyone to take pictures which they later uploaded to their Facebook page.

I was working on Warped Tour last year and I was so stoked to find that they were on the tour. It always made my day when our tent was in front of the stage they played on. Brian and Neil both ran around promoting their sets a lot and hung around at their tent to chat with people way more than any other band I'm aware of on the tour, so I got to say hi here and there. On the first day of three in which I ended up setting up and doing everything myself (long story), our tent was actually next to theirs. I think Brian noticed I was totally exhausted/stressed, so he came over, said hey, asked how I was doing -- I mentioned that their set always really brightened my day, and later in the conversation he offers "hey do you want a shirt??" and I'm like "OF COURSE I WANT A SHIRT!" and so he gave me a Koo shirt of my very own. I'm pretty much a fan for life.

I was going to say this reminds me a lot of the music on Yo Gabba Gabba so it makes sense that they'd open for Aquabats. And the Gonoodle (my son LOVES it) connection makes even more sense.

These guys did the "kid entertainment" during a New Years Day race my wife and I ran something like 6 years ago... so my now 7 year old can honestly say to the other kids that he was into them before they were cool.

He likes their weird music. I like that their music is weird. Everyone wins!

Just don't watch the outtakes, where they set the cats down and let them interact on their own. Some things you can never un-see.

I saw these guys with Frank Turner and it was absolute joy. They are SO NICE. They had a photo booth and there are pics of me with them at the venue (and every other human that night). I ordered some of their swag for a friend's kid and he is over. the. moon. about it -- and they signed it and wrote a nice message, it was just so cool. They are good people. I think at the show we were at, Frank specifically said that he had been lobbying to tour with them for AGES and finally won. Gotta love it.

Judging from the mellowness of these cats, I suspect kitty xanax was consumed

I saw these guys at a kids birthday party 5 years ago. They were amazing. Super hi five.
