#CatsAgainstBrexit. But there's another side to the story.
Some are on the fence about it…
Of course, others demand to be heard…
Of course, others demand to be heard…
Based on the fact that the 'Stay' cats have better jokes, I'm going to go with that as the correct opinion to hold.

We should probably just let cats settle all of our big political questions.

As an American who lives in the UK and will be affected by this vote, this whole referendum is absolutely terrifying and mind boggling. I also currently don't own a cat and can't vote. #catsagainstbrexit is my new hope and obsession to see me to Thursday and beyond. I can't even begin to explain how much this silly meme improves my mental state.

Just to take this into utterly surreal territory the BBC runs a story on it featuring MeFi's very own cstross - and more specifically, his cat Menhit, aka @antipope_cats, who gets lead picture!
(Small Internet Syndrome strikes again: not only have I known cstross for twenty years, but Lilian Edwards, who originated the meme, is another long-standing friend whose flat I once rented. If her name seems familiar, she's a noted professor of IT law who once got permission from Randall Munroe to use the xkcd Map of the Internet as a book cover.)

I hope it doesn't offend against the policy on self-linking to refer to our Mira's stance on all this.

Much to my chagrin, I have to be in *London* of all places on referendum day.
It's going to be intolerable. (Especially as I voted a couple of weeks ago.)

I sometimes wonder if the anti-feline mefi contingent constantly rolls its eyes at all of the cat posts on here. But then I quickly realize I don't care because what are they, SATAN? I MEAN, SERIOUSLY, NO LIKEY SWEET WITTLE KITTY CATS? WHAA?
Thanks for the post!

I don't know about whether cats would indeed be anti-Brexit. Cats might see all of the migrants who would move from Calais to Dover after the French let them through in the wake of Brexit as a potential food source

Just going to note, because there is always some confusion on this point, that relevant self-links are not a problem in comments. Self linking just for the sake of doing so is not allowed, but it's ok to use a self-link as a good faith contribution to discussion.
