His evil face reminds me of my late cat Pogo, who had a sort of Stalin moustache look going on. He was a cunning bastard too. Used to hunt rabbits with his brother Merry (who is 18 and still alive, despite getting caught in a gin trap and nearly losing a leg, and now spends much of his time yachting with my parents).

One of my cats pissed all over my kid's coloring books last night. So ... I'm sort of cool on troublemaking kitties right now.

That is one clever and persistent cat, though. Also, maybe he goes in the plastics because he likes to eat them. One of our cats (not the book-pisser) will eat any plastic bag you accidentally leave out, and hork up a big plastic blob a few minutes later. She is not so bright.

This seemed like a really long video about a cat that, OMG, acts like a cat!!! I did not actually watch it to the end, I will admit.

As much as cleverness, this seems like it could be a cat obsessed with food.

We adopted a cat that had been abandoned and undernourished, and as a result has had weird issues with food. It started with eating so ravenously that she’d barf it up. We invested in an automated dry food feeder, which helped meter out many small snacks a day. This mitigated the overeating, and her association with humans as strictly somebody who provided her meals.

All was well and good until we decided to give her a treat of wet food, which resulted in a whole new obsession with finding and getting more. Constantly. We’re back to the try food routine, and the kitty OCD has cooled down again, with one exception: If we’re cooking chicken for consumption by the humans in the house she goes completely apeshit. She shows no interest in any other human food.

Otherwise, she’s as normal as a cat can be.

Yes. Poki is a delightful, good kitty.

Oh look, someone else who's nicknamed "this fucking cat".

Our dumb-as-nails fucking cat sleeps with us in the bedroom because our murder asshole fucking cat likes to take all night eating his dinner and dumbass will go in and steal all the food making murder cat extra murdery. Lately, dumbass has decided he does not want to sleep with us and tries to claw the bedroom door open. The house is old and there's a gap at the bottom of the door big enough to allow a kitty paw through. The door hinges are now loose from him pulling on the door and I've had to block the gap with a 15 pound manual typewriter because it's the only thing that he can't push out of the way.

Murder asshole fucking cat loooooves dry food. Now that we're feeding them dry food again he eats a little quicker, but he also likes to go hunt out the bag of food and tear it to pieces. He's also beaten up on the 50 lb dog enough that she's afraid to come inside if he's standing near the door. If he is not fed promptly or he thinks he was short changed in his meal, he will go seek out the closest warm mammal to use as a scratching post. Except mice, he won't deal with the fucking mice that are climbing all over the kitchen counters.

These fucking cats.

This seemed like a really long video about a cat that, OMG, acts like a cat!!!

Complaining the an internet cat video is just a cat video misses the point about as much as complaining that all the porn on the internet is just different kinds of fucking.

Looks like Poki could use a food puzzle or two.

My cat, HRH Miss Lady Qu'Appelle, also wolfed down dry food too quickly. What helped was getting dry food where the kibble pieces were larger, and had a hole in the middle. It made her chew it more slowly, and there was less puking.

I am gladdened to see another cat who pushes open sliding doors. And regular doors. And gets on their back to wrest open kinda-sorta-locked doors. My ninja kitty also does this.

The number of times I've had to set the sliding closet doors back into their grooves. Sigh. Priorities for when I find a new place (am currently in a rental I can't modify): install closets the fucking cats can't get into. Currently all of my good clothes are up on high shelves in the middle of the closet, barricaded on either end by large duvets, because the middle is the space where the two doors meet and is thus inaccessible to ninja jumping kitties. The duvet barricades keep her from jumping up onto those ends, making lower shelves more attractive.

Why yes, yes, she pushes open the doors, takes out all the clothes that are on the bottom shelves, then gets on the bed and springs up onto any higher shelves she can reach. SO MUCH FUN AFTER A LONG DAY'S WORK.

Oh, I love Rachel and Jun! I've been following them for a couple years now. They are so cute, they don't take themselves very seriously, and I love their cats. Even this one =)

If you like cooking videos, you have to go check out Jun's Kitchen.
Delicious food, attractive cook, ridiculously cute cat! What's not to like?

These folks need to level up their asshole pet thwarting skills. Seven years of a food-obsessed coonhound honed mine too a razor sharp point.

I was just going to say, this is Jun aka Omurice Cat Guy, previously seen on the Blue. (The videos linked in that post must have been pre-Poki, methinks, lol.) Thanks for the post, OP - just what I needed to start the weekend off right.

Tradition speaks of an ancient Chinese curse that went "May you adopt a highly-intelligent cat."

Followed by "and also a young Border Collie". I have never met an animal so intelligent (and with so much energy). The cats, however, are firmly in charge.

I feel there should be some kind of warning about the highly distressing shots of the remnants of Poki's tail pre-amputation at the start. Also, that ubiquitous Kitty Playtime music is kind of cloying.

That said, Poki is awesome, and obviously has the right caretakers.

I think Poki is Rachel and Jun's karmic offset for Haku, the chillest cat who's ever co-hosted a cooking show.

I wouldn't say Poki is annoying at all, just very persistent and inquisitive. I had a cat years ago named Rambo that did such wonderful things as following me and my brother in the garden and pulling up the dozens of tomato plants we had just planted one by one until he got to the same row I was working on, which was when I finally realized what he was doing. That cat was annoying.

Poki reminds me of my newest stray-turned-pet who will get into or behind any container, cabinet or anything else that involves exploring and has recently learned he can get on top of things and hit the garage door opener with his paw to go outside. Which briefly led me to believe my garage door was malfunctioning and opening on it's own.

I have a Poki cat, only smaller and all black. Tonight I was mixing cut-up chicken into a bowl of pasta (for me) and he hopped right on the counter and shoved his face into it. He will take a bite of my food at the exact same time I am also taking a bite. Spooky was also rescued from the street (although in much better condition) so I'm guessing that has something to do with the food-related insanity. My garbage can has a step lid, so if he figures that one out I guess I'm screwed.
