I liked that. Also, being a Steven Universe fan primes me to recognize names like Ian Jones-Quartey when they pop up.

Totally lovely, at first I thought they were real interviews animated over, Aardman style, but naw, they just have tone-perfect kid for T-Kesh.

You know what? I love the fact that the monster is Japanese (Japanese-American?) with the name Takeshi (T-Kesh) and it's NBD. More representation, even in cartoon form, is a good thing.
