An upcoming Netflix movie directed by Bong Joon Ho (of Snowpiercer fame) is being teased with a fake commercial for a not-yet-existing product. Yes, that is Tilda Swinton. (more conventional teaser here)
Why do I suddenly have a craving for samgyeopsal and kamjatang?

Forget that, that plate of giant sausages looked lovely.

Funny how the fake ad must signal that it's a fake, that they can't go all in. Says a surprisingly lot about the movie

They had me at Bong Joon Ho and Tilda Swinton, I don't need to watch the trailer.

I believe it says more about the producer's estimation of the intelligence of this ad's audience. They don't want to leave money on the table with too smart an ad, in agreement with H.L. Mencken's 'quote': “No one ever went broke underestimating the intelligence of the American public.”

It's like Viridian Dynamics decided to soften its image.

I like the idea, but fake adverts for products in science fiction movies seem to have become a standard thing lately.

Tilda Swinton was by far the best part of Snowpiercer, a movie that I really enjoyed upon first viewing at the theater and more-or-less loathed upon re-watch when it eventually came to Netflix. If I end up watching this (and who am I kidding, I certainly will) it will only be to get more Swinton on my screen.

She tends to be the best thing in anything. She was the best thing in Dr Strange. If it's on the Telly, I always watch Constantine for the bit where she turns up. She and Nigel Terry so outclassed the leads in Jarman's Edward II that I found myself rooting for the villains, which is probably technically homophobia.

Snowpiercer sucked, but Memories of Murder, Mother and The Host were as good as any movies I've ever seen.

I liked Snowpiercer well enough, though I only saw it once. But The Host is a really good film that definitely still holds up. I'm at least tentatively on board for all future Bong Joon Ho movies just based on that one.

OK, I think I haven't seen Snowpiercer. I think I was confusing it with Stoker. Whichever was the film about all the people on the train made by a Korean director in Hollywoood -- that was the one I thought sucked.

If only there were some kind of device you could put on your desk or lap (or pocket?!) that could connect to other devices for the purpose of easy dissemination and retrieval of information like that. Hmmm...TO THE DRAWING BOARD!
