Nile Rodgers was working with George Michael on remaking Fantasy, an outtake/b-side from 1990's Listen Without Prejudice sessions, when the singer unexpectedly died last December. The remade track Fantasy ft. Nile Rodgers was just released.
People Magazine has some background on the project.

I miss George Michael but this isn't what I want to hear. Careless Whisper is in my top 109. This will not make it into it. Thanks for the post though, down the GM rabbit hole I go.

Killer guitar sound. That's gotta be "The Hitmaker".

Nice blend of George Michael's consistently great vocals and Nile Rogers' distinctive guitar sound. Better mixing than the original in the other video linked. At least on my tv's speakers.
Would have been excellent, if someone could have resisted the tempation to add that unfortunate robo-tuned vocal twister motif.

I love it! Thank you for posting. I'm a big fan of his outside/fastlove/star people/freeek kind of sound, and this is along the same line. Good stuff!

It was the b-side for Freedom 90.
I actually track the original version of song into Listen Without Prejudice Vol. 1 between Cowboys And Angels and Waiting For That Day, where it sits perfectly as a little funky horn jam.
I'd have to listen to the new version again, but my initial response was that George has never really had his vocals manipulated like that before and I wasn't sure if I liked it.

The vocal manipulation reminded me of his "Hard Day" track. This is crazier than that, but reminiscent.

Hi, I have just thoroughly dated myself in at least three different ways.
