I just started filming my jams

Tash Sultana is a young multi-instrumentalist who filmed her jams. Jungle (8 min), Mystic (4 min), Synergy (6 min), and more. Here's a Notion (12 min) of what she is like live. Want more? Here's an hour of Sultana performing a couple of weeks ago at Lollapalooza, Chile.

Melbourne born of Maltese heritage, Tash Sultana received her first guitar at three and her go-pro at twenty. In between she mastered electric guitar, percussion, flute, trumpet, saxaphone, bass guitar, soaring vocals, and a drug habit-induced psychosis. In conversation, Sultana admits to sneaking into venues to perform at open mic nights at the age of 13 (hiding her school uniform in her bag), and claims she was so naughty as a child her parents couldn't bear to have another one. Now 23, Sultana is thrilling crowds with her multi-talented musicality on an international tour that is selling fast or sold out.

My teenage daughter is obsessed with her, and has convinced her band to add Jungle to their set list. I'm not a huge fan of the built-up loops style of solo performance (I'd rather just see a band), but she's an excellent example of the genre.

We will all get some Teen Cool Points when I tell her Tash was on MeFi today.

Thank you so much for posting this. I'm a budding multi-instrumentalist myself and seeing people like her shine at the musicality that just one person with a looping pedal can exhibit is amazing.

Her solos are wicked. So full of soul and feeling.

That bass line she adds in on Mystic is incredible. Great stuff. Thank you, Thella!

Wait...she plays trumpet too?!?! Wow. (I guess you said that.)

I might like the studio recording of Mystik even better.

I hope I live another forty years so I can hear what this woman is doing with her music when she is in her sixties.

My daughter was indeed impressed with our coolness. She suggests we will appreciate the subtle Mom cameo at around 2:30 of Jungle (keep your eyes on the right side of the screen).
