Two British legends of light entertainment discuss (in 1983) their groundbreaking performance (22 years earlier) when, due to an actor's strike, they hosted a one-hour live TV performance single (double) - handed.
Bruce Forsyth (who was, until his death last year a popular culture legend in the UK) was the the established host of the show which usually included three or four celebrity guests plus a musical guest. Norman Wisdom (comedian, and Albanian superstar) had been booked as the headline act and had expected to produce a 10-minute set. On the announcement of the strike, they decided to perform the entire 1-hour show as a double act, culminating in an almost surreal, punch-drunk musical/dance number.
The show MUST go on!!!
