Redditor elfsoamah discovered that "Party Rock Anthem" has the same BPM as "Hungry Like the Wolf". Redditor actuallydavide found that it also has the same BPM as "Uptown Girl" (and works in either direction). Now there's a SharedBPM subreddit.
I'm not convinced that This is America actually matches beats with Call Me Maybe but that I fully expect that video to be the best thing I'll see for the rest of the year.

This is almost as good as finding out that any Emily Dickinson poem can be sung to the theme from Gilligan's Island.

Wasn’t there a pretty comprehensive BPM listings website a jillion years ago?
I thought it was Call Me A Hole that was the best mashup.
It is, in no small part because “Call Me Maybe” was engineered by and features the hard driving kickdrum of Dave “Rave” Ogilvie of (-ish) Skinny Puppy, whom Nine Inch Nails (admittedly) blatantly ripped off on the same album as “Head Like A Hole.”
Compare: Skinny Puppy - Dig It (1986)/ Nine Inch Nails - Down In It (1989)
“Love Psych” is a very close silver medal mashup, btw.

My all time favorite mashup right now is Somebody to Praise - Jefferson Airplane V Fatboy Slim
I've heard so many Beastie Boys mashups and almost all of them work. Two of my favorites- Where is My Mind/A World Gone Mad and Dear Prudence/The Move from Ill Submarine.

I've watched Call Me America (that's the title I'm going with, based on one of the Youtube comments) like 10 times in a row just now. It's brilliant.

1) Just because the BPMs match doesn't mean you can make it work as a mashup.
2) Just because you can make it work as a mashup, doesn't mean you should make it work as a mashup.

there's been disagreements in the subreddit as to if mashups should stay out of it, and while I'm not a redditor, I totally agree, there's already a r/mashups, this should really only be for the same BPM videos.

Assemblage 23 - Maps of Reality and The Gothsicles - Mix This Song Into A23's "Maps of Reality"
posted by Pope Guilty at 1:51 AM on October 8, 2018
If you're gonna get paid for playing other people's musicAnd of course one of the best remixes ever, Mix This Song into A23's "Maps of Reality" (A23 remix), which incorporates a good chunk of "Maps of Reality" and features a verse sung by A23.
You'll probably wanna add some zing and here's one way to do it
And I know that fancy mixing doesn't always make a good DJ
But still, my mom could put a CD in a deck and make it play
"Maps of Reality" by Assemblage 23
Has the same BPM and is in the same key
As the track which you are hearing now, it's beatmatch 101
We'll synchronize the song's reprise and then we'll have some fun
Because it's like a paint by numbers except for the DJ booth
Because a pause that lasts two seconds just sounds sloppy and uncouth
We'll make a beat match so precise you'll leave the dance floor thunderstruck
Because our mash-up will be organized and not just sheer luck

some of you might remember this: 3 ladies dancing to Mexican Breakfast from the 60's, set to DJ Unk's "Walk It Out", but apparently the best quality is that ebaum's world link, the youtube one is super blurry.

It's mashups, eh? The videos may not be all that, but these are some of my favorite to listen to.
- The Final Teen Spirit Mashup (Nirvana vs. Europe) by Wax Audio, and Spins Like Teen Spirit (Nirvana vs. Dead or Alive)
- Losing My Bad Romance (Lady Gaga vs. R.E.M.)
- Tainted Jesus (Soft Cell vs. Depeche Mode)
- Home By The West End (Pet Shop Boys vs. Genesis)
- Rolling in Sweet Dreams (Adele vs. Eurythmics)

Interestingly, that exact video mashup (Gwen Verdon x "Walk It Out") was what inspired Beyoncé's Single Ladies video. It's a bit of a shame that it's been purged from YouTube.

It is an entertaining time when one first learns that the Australian National Anthem can be sung to Gilligan's Island or Working Class Man. Also, any other combination of these were hilarious to my high school age self.
