Typographical Posters, Post Typography!

IDC School of Design in Mumbai holds an annual Typography Day with a poster design contest. Here are winners from 2019, 2018, 2017, 2016, 2015, 2014, 2013, 2012, 2011.
The PDFs of speaker presentations and submitted papers are a treasure trove as well: 2019, 2018, 2017, 2016, 2015, 2014, 2013, 2012, 2011.

There was a time when I thought I could be an artist. I was clever with pencil and pen. I could cartoon. I could sketch a good portrait. I was wicked with still lifes. One time, I designed a co-worker's baby announcement. I'm creative, I thought.
Um, no. Once I saw what real artists can do (thanks, DeviantArt!) for fun, I just threw down my pencil and gave up. I am astounded, as I was looking at these designs, by the visual imagination and technical skill embodied by these pieces.

Some of these seem more like calligraphy than typography but they’re all very lovely just the same.
